Driver Application Status Guide

This article explains what each driver application status means, what actions (if any) you need to take, and what happens next.

Driver Application Lifecycle

Every driver application moves through the following stages:

  1. Applying – Your application is still being completed.

  2. Pending Approval – Your submitted documents are being reviewed.

  3. Screening – Your background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) are being processed.

  4. Rejected – Your application was not approved.

Some stages include additional sub-statuses that provide more detail about your application's progress.


Applying

Status: Applying

What it means

Your application has not yet been completed.

What you need to do

Log into the Driver app and complete any remaining sections of your application.

What happens next

Once your application is complete and submitted, it will move to Pending Approval for document review.


Pending Approval

This stage means your application has been submitted and your documents are being reviewed.

Sub-status: Pending Review

What it means

Your application and documents are currently under review.

What you need to do

No action is required at this time.

What happens next

Our team will contact you if additional information or documentation is needed.


Sub-status: Rejected

What it means

One or more of the documents you submitted were not accepted.

What you need to do

Log into the Driver app and resubmit any documents that were rejected.

What happens next

Once the updated documents are received, your application will continue through the review process.


Sub-status: Expired

What it means

One or more of the documents on your application have expired.

What you need to do

Log into the Driver app and upload updated versions of the expired documents.

What happens next

Once your updated documents are received, your application review will continue.


Screening

This stage begins after your documents have been approved. During this phase, your background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are completed through Turn Technologies.

Sub-status: Emailed

What it means

Your documents have been approved, and your background check invitation has been sent.

What you need to do

Check your email for a message containing the link to begin your background check and complete it as soon as possible.

What happens next

Once you begin the background check, your application will move into processing.


Sub-status: Processing

What it means

Your background check and MVR are currently being processed.

What you need to do

No action is required.

What happens next

Once processing is complete, your reports will move into review.


Sub-status: Pending Approval

What it means

Your background check and MVR have been completed and are currently being reviewed.

You should also receive a copy of your report from Turn Technologies by email.

What you need to do

No action is required unless contacted.

What happens next

Once the review is complete, your application will continue toward a final decision.


Sub-status: Consent

What it means

Your background check and MVR have been completed.

You should have received an email from Turn Technologies containing your report.

What you need to do

Review the report using the email provided by Turn Technologies.

If you believe any information is inaccurate, contact Turn Technologies directly at [email protected].

What happens next

Once any necessary review is complete, your application will continue toward a final decision.


Sub-status: Review Identity

What it means

Your background check has started, but additional identity verification is required before it can continue.

What you need to do

Check your email for instructions from Turn Technologies requesting additional information.

If you need assistance, contact [email protected].

What happens next

After the requested information is received, your background check will continue processing.


Sub-status: Pending Second Notice

What it means

Your background check and MVR have been completed.

You should have received an email from Turn Technologies containing your report.

What you need to do

If you believe your report contains incorrect information, contact Turn Technologies at [email protected].

What happens next

Once any required waiting period or review is complete, your application will continue through the approval process.


Rejected

Status: Rejected

What it means

Your application was not approved.

What you need to do

You should have received an email explaining why your application was rejected.

If you have questions about the decision, please contact our support team.

What happens next

If you are eligible to reapply in the future, any applicable instructions will be provided separately.
