How do I become a FRAYT delivery driver?

Becoming a driver with FRAYT is easy, but you do need to meet our minimum requirements before you can sign up as a FRAYT delivery driver.

Minimum Requirements

To become a FRAYT delivery driver, you need to meet these minimum requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old

  • Must have 2 full years of overall driving experience using the class of vehicle operating for FRAYT

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state you reside in and normally operate a vehicle for FRAYT

Vehicle Requirements

Your vehicle must also meet the following requirements:

  • 15 years old or newer

  • Has no physical damage or defects

  • Be in safe operating condition

  • Clean

  • Less than 10,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight

  • Equipped with appropriate load securement devices

  • Properly registered with valid in-state license plates

  • Liability insurance - naming you as an insured driver of the vehicle

Additional Requirements

We also require you to meet these additional requirements:

Must have not any major moving violations in the past 3 years
Must not have more than 4 minor violations and/or 3 accidents in the past 3 years

Must pass criminal background check.

Disqualifying offenses: misdemeanor or felony crimes including, but not limited to, violent convictions, weapons charges, registered sex offenders, assault, sexual offenses, arson, kidnapping, domestic violence, child abuse, theft, or drug-related. Any offense, regardless of the type, which is still pending in the courts without official legal disposition.

FRAYT will obtain and review your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) prior to signing the partnership with you. In addition, we will also obtain and review your MVR at least once a year. You will also be required to report to FRAYT all moving violations received at any time.

Driver Qualifications Expanded

Car: Subcompacts and sedans

Midsize: SUV, Minivans, and Compact Cargo Vans

Pickup Trucks: 4ft, 5ft, 6ft, 8ft beds •

Cargo/Sprinter Vans: Cargo Vans, Sprinter Vans, and Small Box Trucks under 10,000 GVW

Driver Requirements • 21 or older • Resides in the market for which you are applying • Valid in-state license for the state in which you reside • Valid primary residential address • Social Security Number • No disqualifying MVR or Criminal offenses. Find our MVR and Criminal offense guidelines at https://www.frayt.com/drivers#faqs • An insured driver on a policy issued within the state of your residence • Ability to lift and carry heavy and bulky items • Excellent communication skills • Vehicle Requirements • Vehicle must be 20 years or newer • Vehicle can have no visible damage or defects • Vehicle cannot be a rental • Vehicle cannot display any non-courier signs or ads • Vehicle must be properly plated and registered in the state of residence • Registration document issued from the state of residence listing VIN, plate number, and expiration date must be supplied • Insurance issued in the state of residence listing the driver’s name, VIN, and expiration date must be supplied • State minimum insurance is required in all states except FL • FL insurance requirements are as follows: drivers are required to maintain liability insurance with limits of at least $10,000 Bodily Injury Per Person / $20,000 Bodily Injury Per Accident / $10,000 Property Damage.

• Box Trucks: 10’-26’ Foot Box/Straight Truck - Lift gate preferred • Pallet jack recommended • Carrier must meet Highway Certification as required by FRAYT • Insurance Requirements: • Auto liability limits must be no less than $1,000,000 • Cargo liability limits must be no less than $100,000 •
